national Bible translators in Angola are receiving crucial help. http://www.wycliffeassociates.org/involved/storypage.asp?id=256
Good vision is crucial for Bible translators who spend hours upon hours poring over text. So imagine how blessed translators in the Kamucuio and Munhino communities of Angola feel after receiving eye exams and new eyeglasses made especially for them. Through support from Wycliffe Associates volunteers and the expertise of Tony Pacione, an optician who manages the program, eyeglasses were constructed on-site for Bible translators and villagers—over 70 people in all. Tony also trained several nationals to carry out this invaluable service in the future.
Translators in Kamucuio are also benefitting from the recent drilling of a new well that will bring safe, clean water to the translation community. With your continued support, a water pump and distribution system is next on our to-do list.
And in Munhino, your generosity is at the heart of a new cell signal booster. No longer will translators have to walk three kilometers (almost two miles) just to get a phone signal. Now they can efficiently communicate with translation consultants anytime from their own office.
