Senator Lindsey Graham, a former Republican Presidential candidate and hawk against the Islamic State said, “This is a religious war between radical Islam and the rest of the world and there is only one way you are going to win this war. Help people in Islam who reject radical Islam to fight over there and destroy this ideology…To all of our Muslim friends throughout the world, like the King of Jordan and the President of Egypt …Your religion is not the enemy.”
Meanwhile the Islamic President of Egypt, el-Sisi, has said, “I say and repeat, again, that we are in need of a religious revolution. You imams are responsible before Allah. The entire world is waiting on you….because the Islamic world is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost. And it is being lost by our own hands…We need a revolution…It’s inconceivable that the thinking that we hold most sacred should cause the entire Islamic world to be a source of anxiety, danger, killing and destruction for the rest of the world. Impossible that this thinking – and I am not saying the religion…It’s antagonizing the entire world…Does this mean that 1.6 billion people (Muslims) should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants – that is 7 billion – so that they themselves may live? Impossible!”
President el-Sisi is far more honest about Islam than Senator Graham and most of our elites who seem to be clueless about Islamic teaching and history. President el-Sisi specially calls on the imams for a religious revolution because the problem is Islam and the Quran itself. When he says, “Does this mean that 1.6 billion people (Muslims) should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants?” he is referring to standard Islamic teaching. These teachings are explained very clearly by a well-trained, American, Islamic teacher’s instruction and are described by three very knowledgeable experts. You can read them if you internet search: “U.S. College Prof: Christians ‘filthy’ in eyes of Allah.”
Frankly, I am impatient with calls to be tolerant of a religion that preaches either conversion or death. I find it difficult to be charitable to leaders and elites who will not educate themselves and intelligently respond to this potential danger. This is not a minor danger. There are well over 2 billion Muslims in the world. To see what they believe search: “Muslim polls.”
This may, or may not, be about individual Muslims, it is about supremacist Islam. Just as many Christians can’t agree how to follow the guidance of the Bible, many Muslims also have very different beliefs about following Islam. Nevertheless, we can’t ignore a large ideology that demands supremacy over us and seeks our conversion or death. Can you explain why our leaders and elites will not understand, and be truthful about Islam? Why do they seem subservient and incompetent when responding to this conquering ideology?
