As human beings made in the image of God, we cannot help but be captivated by the reality of truth and beauty around us. C.S. Lewis says, “Nature never taught me that there exists a God of glory and of infinite majesty. I had to learn that in other ways. But nature gave the word ‘glory’ meaning for me. I still do not know where else I could have found one.” Subsequently elsewhere, Lewis concludes, “Our desire is to not only SEE glory but to participate in the glory we see.”
When Petr returned home, he learned the reason for his slumber. The people in his church had agreed to stop whatever they were doing every night at 8 p.m. and take time to pray for Petr.
For the 52 Tuesdays initiative, APN calls on all pastors to weekly encourage their congregations to pray with “who, what, when, where, why and how” in mind, as each American carefully considers our nation, its leaders and the meaning, the gravity and the outcome of praying for America.
“Just having something that we could call our own – that we could play with and that could take our minds off of what happened during the war – receiving that shoebox was just the beginning of my faith,” Nsengimana said. “It reminded us that someone out there cared for us.”
The events are aiming for a great awakening in the US and to launch a new Jesus movement among the youth of America.
“There are too many people out there who would belittle and attack a Christian for (saying) what is right,” Pike said. “Because there are too many sheep out there who will follow the next big thing, and they will never be constant.”
